New Hope Kapolei exists to fulfill God's purposes in this generation by impacting people far from God to become passionate disciples commited to Christ, Community, and the Cause.
As followers of Jesus, we desire to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength and to love our neighbor as ourself. Love is rooted in God, reflected in people, and seen in action. Each person is created in the image of God, and as such, has value. We seek to love each person as they are without compromise and to live in right relation- ships.
Matthew 22:36-40; 1 John 4:10; 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; John 13:34-35
Just as God Himself exists in unity, we are created to live in relationship with God and other Christ followers. Connecting in an environment where people can be real and yet maintain unity fosters sustained and healthy growth. Relationships in authentic community accept tension and struggles to be normal, and reconciliation necessarily intentional.
John 17:20-21; Genesis 2:18; Ephesians 4:2-3
Being a follower of Jesus means we embrace the need and process of growth. This change is not automatic but is intentional. We seek after God, apply honesty with self and others, and serve in ministry, among other practices resulting in spiritual transformation.
2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 4:13; Romans 12:1-2
We were created for significance above comfort. Therefore, we believe in intentionally embracing God-ordained challenges with faith in Jesus. It is in stepping out of our comfort zones in these kind of challenges through faith in Christ that we expand God's Kingdom in us and through us.
Mark 10:17-22; Hebrews 11:1-2; Ephesians 4:19; Matthew 9:28-29
We believe that each person was designed to serve and honor God. And the greatest place to sense God's presence, joy, fulfill our calling, is in the midst of serving Him. Yet, nothing of significance is ever done entirely alone. Therefore, we must equip God's people to follow Jesus, and identify and train emerging leaders.
Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 3:3-4; 2 Timothy 2:2
Jesus mission was nothing less than to change the world. Every follower of Jesus is an outpost for the kingdom of Heaven and we are called to continue His mission to change the world one life at a time by our life, deeds, and words.
Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Corinthians 5:19; Acts 1:8
