After taking a career assessment, Edna’s results recommended she either becomes a teacher or do vocational ministry. Although she pursued both, she ended up with a BA in Mathematics from the University of Hawaii. While juggling teaching ESL, tutoring math, and working as her church’s bookkeeper, Edna didn’t have time for anything else. Yet, a certain friend was conveniently involved in the same activities, ministries, and committees that Edna happened to be at.

After playing on opposite sides of the volleyball net, they decided that being on the same team would be more fun. Curtis and Edna teamed up in marriage in 1992. They added to their team a daughter (Moriah) and twin sons (Micah and Caleb). Edna enjoys coaching, singing, reading, graphic design, watching UH sports (a wannabe athlete), and epic movies.
